had really bad sleep, air warm + still + added attraction of mosquitoes. Thank god for siestas, I’m so tired that I just sleep right through the afternoon heat. Lessons: Always interesting how your prof propounds his/her own personal theory + tells you everyone else is mistaken, to be sure the cases are convincing because you tend to hear only one side. What’s interesting is that D and M overlap their material quite a bit + have clashing viewpoints. Eg. Existence of Minoan empire. Went with T to Syndagma Square for lunch. Crass commercial touristy area, 400 drachma for a cheese pie. Wandered some more, lots of souvenir shops around foot of Acropolis: Greek t-shirts, pseudo artefacts.. ice-cream for 450. Was really, really hot, didn’t fell it till I got back, had to sit in front of fan for a bit. Went to dance performance, part of Athens Festival at the Theatre Herod (The Odeon of Herode Attikus). Kinda weird, T left after the first item. (R, Se, Iv, S, M, Al, Ls, L as well) rest of us sat through the whole then went for dinner, after that went up to the girls’ apartment. Chitchat + retsina. Boy can L go on. I would prefer talking to M or S.
